Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou has admitted he sympathises with Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag, who has been under constant pressure since taking charge, ahead of Sunday’s clash.
The Netherlands boss, ทางเข้า ufabet who could only draw 1-1 with Twanate in the Europa League in midweek, is once again under immense pressure after drawing with Crystal Palace in the league last weekend and Postecoglou admitted he sympathises with Ten Hag, who is under pressure despite winning trophies in the past two seasons.
“I think Eric had a tough job and he did very well,” Ange Postecoglou said during a press conference on Friday.
“He always says he won two titles and that’s no small thing. Everyone tells me that’s all I have to do, but it’s not all I have to do because when you do that, there’s always more. He did a good job even when it was difficult.”
“I don’t know who came up with the term ‘impossible task’, but I think it’s more impossible now than ever. It seems that success is not enough without identity, and identity is not enough unless it’s followed by a beautiful game, and a beautiful game is not enough unless it’s followed by a legacy.”
“There’s always another level. It seems like nobody is good unless you win a trophy at the end of the season. There doesn’t seem to be any understanding of progress or the situation of the people who have to work in that period.”
“But it’s just the nature of the role. I don’t think it changes. I guess it depends on how you react to it, how you let it affect you.”
“The more experience you have, the better you’ll be able to handle these things.”
